mookah was created in 2009 by sisters Nicole and Leisa, after a change of location, lifestyle and a desire to do something creative and enterprising together.
The complete mookah range is designed and made the old fashioned way by
hand in our home based studio, located in Inverloch.
Our inspiration and focus has always been on using fabrics that are
predominantly inspired by nature to reflect the environment we are
surrounded by, with our studio nestled in Victorian coastal bushland. We love
working with natural fibres such as hemp, linen and organic cotton.
Most of the textiles we choose to work with are hand screen printed fabrics
designed by us or other Australian Textile Designers, who share our love for
natural fibres and the environment.
