How many beans do I need to fill my kids beanbag?

This depends a little on the size of your child as you will require more beans for a very small child and less for older children.  On average however, you will require approximately 150 litres of beans.

Where can I find the beans to fill my beanbag or floor cushion?

Our beanbags are quite simple to fill and the beans very easy to find.  You can easily buy the beans from stores such as Spotlight, Kmart, Target or Big W.

How do I fill my beanbag?

It is recommended to have 2 people for this job.  Simply open the zip in the base of the beanbag, cut one corner off the top of the bag of beans and one person pour the beans into the beanbag while the other is firmly holding it, until the bag is full enough to suit the size of the child.  Then simply close the zip on the beanbag and it's ready to use.

Do you have liners for the beanbags for added safety?

Yes liners or inserts are available separately, as not all of our customers want the liner/inner.  The liners simply sit inside the beanbag cover. This is an added safety feature as beans cannot escape if the zip of the beanbag was to come open slightly, and also makes it easier for when you choose to wash the beanbag cover.

Do the beanbags have a 'safety zip'?

Yes, the zip pullers have been removed from all of our beanbag zips, so that the hands of those little people cannot accidentally open the zip and release the beans.  You simply need to insert a paperclip or safety pin through the loop to act as the zip puller, to open and close the beanbag and then remove it again once closed.

What size are the kids beanbags?

The kids beanbags have a square base which measures 65cm x 65cm and they stand approximately 95cm tall.

What age kids does the kids beanbags suit?

Our kids beanbags will suit children from age 1 through to 12, but may differ depending on the size of the child.  For small babies/toddlers you will require more beans so that the beanbag is quite plump and will support small children, but so that they are easily able to move freely in and out of the beanbag.

How many beans will I need to fill a large floor cushion?

You will need 100 litres (or 500g) of beans to fill your floor cushion firmly.  Once the floor cushion has been used and the fabric has softened a little, you may want to add a few more beans to keep your cushion nice and firm.

How many beans will I require to fill a small floor cushion?

You will need 50 litres (or 250g) of beans to fill your floor cushion firmly.  Once the floor cushion has been used and the fabric has softened a little, you may want to add a few more beans to keep your cushion nice and firm.

How do I fill my floor cushion and get it as firm as your display ones?

This is quite a simple task, but we do have some suggestions to make it quick and easy.  Below is a description, but here is a youtube link which
demonstrates how to easily fill your own floor cushion cover.

Firstly, it is best done with 2 people, one doing the holding of the cushion cover, and the other doing the pouring of the beans.

If you open the zip of the cushion cover you will see that we have sewn a funnel/throat into the cover to make it easier to fill.  We also use an empty plastic plant pot with the base cut out to act as a funnel, which is inserted in the throat of the cushion cover.  The 2nd person simply pours the beans into the funnel until the cushion is fairly full.  At this point remove the funnel, close the fabric throat over and push it down into the floor cushion to squeeze the beans in.  You may need to repeat this process several times until the cushion is nice and firm. Then simply fold the throat over, tuck inside the cushion and close the zip.

Your Mookah floor cushion is now ready to enjoy!

How do I wash/care for screen printed fabrics?

Cool, gentle machine wash. Drip dry.  Cool iron.  Do not dry clean or tumble dry.
